A Message from Pastor Johnson concerning COVID-19

Worshipping together gives us encouragement and the tremendous opportunity for fellowship and Christian renewal. The bible reminds us that " that in the last days perilous times shall come” we don’t believe that the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic is the last sign but we do recognize that it is a real cause of anxiety and fear. As we place our faith and trust in the Lord at times like this, we know it’s crucial to communicate how Central Oak Grove is addressing this unprecedented situation.

In General

  • The CDC and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control are the best sources of the latest information:cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html and scdhec.gov/health/infectious-diseases/viruses/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19.

  • As much as we want you to worship the Lord with us, please remain at home if you’re sick or if you have symptoms of COVID-19.

  • The CDC also recommends that you take extra precautions if you have an underlying health condition, especially one affecting your heart and lungs, or if you have a compromised immune system.

  • You’re the best judge of whether attending worship or other activities are a risk for you and your family. We respect your judgment.

During Worship

Joyful worship is one of COG’s core values and Sunday mornings are at the heart of our time together. Starting today we will continue worship with the following changes.

  • We’ll offer “Hands across the Aisle” to one another only verbally, and we’ll encourage you to greet one another verbally only.

  • If you want to worship but maintain distance from others, feel free to sit in your desired place.

  • Live and recorded sermons will be broadcast via the http://www.cogbchurch.com/ website with a link to paypal for your tithes and offerings as needed.

  • If you have questions or would like to notify us of a pastoral care need, please contact the Deacons or the Pastor.

Our Facility

Our facility will be given extra attention and hand sanitizers are available and the bathrooms are well stocked with soap and paper towels.

Staying in Touch

Recognizing that the COVID-19 situation is evolving, we’ll do our best to communicate with you in a timely manner any changes to worship or other activities.

In the meantime:

Pray for one another, our community, and our world.

Yours in Christ,

Louis Johnson, Pastor
